Victor de Mello

My path in science has always had high levels of entropy. I had a broad formation passing by programming, molecular biology, and physics, which encourages me to look at every phenomenon through interdisciplinary lenses. I am interested in the physical properties of biomolecular machines, their structure and evolution. In my PhD, I work in collaboration with a virology lab to understand how the influenza virus uses phase transition in its favour. More specifically, I am investigating viral RNA-protein complexes prone to undergo liquid-liquid phase separation in vitro and how it is related to the infection cycle.
